Picky Karen does not want to listen to my explanation. S OC I use to work at a Tex-Mex restaurant, you know the ones that charge like $12 for a taco. I had a customer come in and she asked for 2 quesadillas that was gluten free, cheese free, Vegan free idk everything else free. I told her everything we normally put on it and she said no to everything. So basically, all she wanted was our gluten free wrap with lettuce and tomato.

Font - Okay that is fine, but if I put this like that into the system it will be $12 a piece....... I can just get you a lettuce wrap with tomato and it will be $2.25. I was even going to heat it up a little (the bread) for her. I tried 2 times to explain this to her and she interrupted me and said "I know what I want. I want the quesadilla this way and if you cant understand this, then go the the manager."

Font - So I understood her, got it made the way that she wanted and brought it out. She gave me a smirk and was like see I knew you could do it! That made my blood boil and I was in shock that she was so dense. Once the bill came she grabbed it and before I could walk away she yelled "Um excuse me" so loud the surrounding tables all stopped.

Font - "Yes mam what can I help you with?" I asked. "Why the is it $24 for my 2 quesadillas." "Because the price on the menu is $12 each." "Yeah but I didnt get any of the included items" "Yes but you ordered 2 quesadillas. Therefor that is what you got charged. She of course spoke to the manager who sided with me and the lady paid her bill (the full $24 for those quesadillas) I did not however get a tip.

Font - LaLii 2000 2 hr. ago Your manager should have tipped you! Reply Share Vote wastingtimaway OP 2 hr. ago I did not want to put it in the post but the lady paid with cash.... my manager actually deleted her transaction and then "refunded it" and changed it to where she got the wrap and the other food with her group and let me keep the difference. She told me not to tell the other waitresses but I essentially got a tip from us changing her order.

Font - Only Takes5minutes · 1 hr. ago Nice of your manager to take care of you. And this reminds me when I went to a restaurant and ordered a burger without buns. I was trying out some stupid diet :D Then I hear from the kitchen someone yelling "What the !" I was so embarassed, haha. Mainly because it occured to me, I could have just ordered a burger and not eat what I don't want from it. Live and learn :D

Font - Relevant-Avocado5200 36 min. ago Usually only primadonna "chefs" get outraged over NOT putting something on an order. Line cooks don't care about things like "hb-no bun" on a ticket. Usually they're just like "cool, saves me time" while the wiatress doesn't have to ask things like "was the bun not ok?" and the owner is all like "cool, saves me money" Now, someone asking for lasagna with no noodles on the other hand... (yes, had someone ask me that in my former life as a cook)

Font - Coolbeanschilly Your tip was the fact that she had to eat the cost of her lack of communication skills. Reply Share +2 44 min. ago Vote . wastingtimaway OP 42 min. ago . That was a good tip I will admit. But I am glad that I got a cash tip from my manager so I could pay those bills lol.

Font - Brittanicus1 39 min. ago Order burgers without the bun all the time. Glutens messes me up something fierce if I get too much at any given time. No sense wasting the bun in my opinion. I worked as a cook in a restaurant during college. Used to get cheese steak orders all the time without the bun. You'd be surprised how little food it looks like without the bun and we'd get complaints I was "shorting" their steak. it comes in a pre-formed "steak patty", I gave you the exact same amount as e

Font - wastingtimaway OP 37 min. ago Yeah we have had that a lot too. . Gluten and dairy allergies. I feel for those with allergies but how can you order something and then remove multiple key ingredients and then complain it isnt as advertised.

Font - LeeQuidity +2.5 min. ago I did not however get a tip. There was little likelihood that you were ever going to get a tip. Condescending fusspots with all sorts of dubious food aversions are not entirely rooted in reality.
